The Nine of Hecate
This is the beginning of an evolving system of nine Hecate blends, each expressed through a different color and a particular aspect of Her power.
Some emerged from traditional epithets and associations. Others developed through ritual practice, experience, spirit work, and the particular ways in which Hecate has revealed Herself to me over time. Each one establishes a different current through which Hecate may be approached.
Black - Priesthood / Medea
Initiation, priesthood, devotion, and the sacerdotal relationship with Hecate. Connected especially with Medea and the mysteries of becoming Her priest or priestess.
White - Hecate Soteira
Hecate the Savior. Cooling, healing, purification, protection, and restorative light.
Red - Hecate as War Goddess
Fire, Mars, warfare, courage, force, confrontation, and the power required to fight.
Green - Hecate Fortuna
Fortune and material opportunity. Working with the movements of fate as they affect prosperity, money, and favorable circumstances.
Brown - Hecate Terrana
Earthly endurance. Survival, resilience, grounding, and the strength required to live through the difficult realities of the material world.
Blue - The Water Aspect
Hecate approached through water, depth, cleansing, mystery, and the fluid world. This blend is currently in development.
Yellow - To Be Revealed
This place remains intentionally open.
Purple - Psychic / Oracular Hecate
Psychic perception, divination, occult vision, trance, intuition, and the opening of hidden sight. This aspect is still being refined.
Pink - Anima Mundi
All is One. Hecate as the World Soul: connection, unity, interdependence, and the living current running through all things. This will be the next creation.
The Open Places
Yellow remains unwritten.
I would genuinely like the community to participate in discovering what belongs there.
What face of Hecate do you believe should occupy the yellow position? What epithet, mystery, power, or magical current is missing from the nine?
I am also open to thoughts about Purple. At present I understand it as Her psychic, oracular, and divinatory current, but I am interested in hearing how others who work with Hecate experience that aspect of Her.
The remaining positions are established within the system, although thoughtful observations are always welcome. A grimoire should be capable of growing.
These nine are not intended to contain Hecate.
They are nine doors through which to encounter Her.
