The blue-robed Santa Muerte has always drawn me in. She feels mysterious in a way the others do not. Over the years I’ve asked many devotees what they feel about this aspect of her, and the answers are different yet strangely similar.

Many people associate the blue robe with water, the ocean, healing, psychic awareness, and witchcraft. There is something lunar and feminine about her presence — quiet, deep, and powerful like the sea.
The ocean itself holds the memory of countless souls. It is a vast graveyard of those lost in the crossings from Africa, of ancestors carried away by history, and of those whose loved ones honored them by returning them to the water. Because of this, it makes sense to me that Holy Death would also dwell within the ocean’s depths.

This blend was originally created many years ago for a very simple purpose. I made it with only a few ingredients so it could be cheap, accessible, and easy to produce for botanicas where many devotees rely on affordable spiritual supplies.

But as my relationship with Santa Muerte deepened — and as my own love of the ocean grew — I felt called to revisit the formula.

So I asked myself a simple question: What does the color blue smell like?

From that idea I built a blend around scents that feel cool, mysterious, and sacred — fragrances that evoke moonlight, ocean air, and the quiet presence of Holy Death.

The result is a devotional blend meant to honor Santa Muerte in her blue robe — protector of intuition, magic, and spiritual power.
