During a recent ceremonial feast for some Orisha, my spiritual perception was heightened—perhaps from the energy in the apartment, or from the way each working station pulsed with a different Orisha being honored. I began the rite by serving the Orisha who do not “belong” to me personally, intending to replenish my own ashe after giving them their due.
When I finally arrived at my personal altar to feast and venerate my Esus and Eleguás, something shifted. Whether I was half-possessed or fully taken, I’m not sure—but I heard Him clearly. In my mind’s eye, I saw everything unfold like a vivid film.
This is my first attempt at creating a dedicated incense blend for Elegua. I suspect by batch number three, it will fully match His desires. He made it clear to me: there is something special in cinnamon that delights Him.
He wants this blend to be light, suitable for daily burning—meant to bring joy and honor, not to activate or overwhelm. The ingredients are revitalizing and replenishing, yes—but this is for adoration, for celebration.
He also said that those who offer this incense to Elegua will find luck in all they seek to manifest. The ingredients are few, and they must be cloaked. (But yes—cinnamon leads the way.)
I welcome feedback from His fellow devotees as I refine this offering.
