This season I am offering a limited run of luxury Bayberry Candles, available first to members of our inner circle before they are released publicly.
Each candle will be poured into deep sea-green glass and adorned with a custom La Sirène medallion. The wax blend will feature genuine bayberry wax and beeswax, creating a candle rooted in one of America's oldest magical traditions.
Bayberry candles have been associated with prosperity, health, and good fortune for centuries. In Colonial America, bayberry wax was prized because of the tremendous amount of labor required to produce it. Thousands of berries were needed to create even a small amount of wax, making bayberry candles a luxury reserved for special occasions and meaningful celebrations.
Over time, a tradition developed of burning a bayberry candle on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day to draw prosperity and blessings for the year ahead.
The old rhyme says: "A bayberry candle burned to the socket brings health to the house and wealth to the pocket."
Today, genuine bayberry wax remains expensive and increasingly difficult to source, making authentic bayberry candles a rare find. For that reason, this will be a small-batch offering made in limited quantities.
